NOTE - All Lots for Sale from our Premises in Kirriemuir and all questions should be directed to Pentland Auctions.
Alisoun and Sandy were well travelled and many items have been collected from all over the world - Alisoun also was amongst other things a notable figure in Scottish heraldry, a former "Herald Painter Extraordinary" known for her work with the Lord Lyon Court
Alisoun and her husband Sandy - Featured in a Televised Documentary - “Keys to the Castle” and this Exciting Sale features the complete contents of her final home in Airlie and many of these lots formally resided with the couple in Inverquharity Castle.
The Sale will Consist of Paintings, Prints, China, Pottery, Furniture, Books, Jewellery, Medals, Silver, Gold, Oriental Items, Antiques and Collectables

The Online Sale of Items from The Late Alisoun Grant, Formerly of Inverquharity Castle, Kirriemuir and most recently Airlie - will go Live Online Monday 16th February 2026 and ENDING Monday 23rd February 2026 from 10am. This will be available to View from 9am on Monday 16th February visiting our website www.pentlandlivestock.co.uk and from here choosing ONLINE AUCTION from the Menu. This will take you to the Auction platform at Auction Marts and from here you will see the sale. There is a menu on this page which includes the option to Log In/Register and if you are a new customer you will need to follow the instructions to Register. The Catalogue will be available on Monday 16th February 2026 and full descriptions and pictures will be available at this point, all online.
VIEWING at our premises in Kirriemuir (Hillhead Business Park, Cortachy Road, Kirriemuir DD8 4PB) by Appointment Only and will be available Monday 16th February 2026 - Friday 20th February 2026 from 10am - 3pm and the Saturday 21st February 2026 9am - 12 noon. Collection by Customers. We just don't have the space to store these items and we can not be held responsible for these items that have been sitting for so long. To enable future sales to be set up we are needing things moved ASAP. Unfortunately we still have a small percentage of our customers seem to think its alright to use our premises as a long term storage unit, due to the volume of lots we are processing this can not continue through 2025 we will therefore introduce a storage charge for items not uplifted within 14 days of the conclusion of an auction. We have had a few Auctions to date this year and unfortunately we still have a number of Items in our yard waiting on collection.

BIDDING TIPS
- We recommend that you place your maximum bid at the earliest opportunity.
- If two bidders place the same maximum bid then the first one to place that maximum bid will win the lot.
- When you place your maximum bid it does not necessarily mean that you will pay that maximum figure. If a lot has not met its reserve and you place your maximum bid at £1,000 and the reserve is £750 then your current bid will be £750. Only you can see your maximum bid.
- If somebody else places a maximum bid of £750 and, for example, the increments are set at £100, then your current bid will automatically jump to £850 . If somebody continues to bid against you, then your bidding will continue automatically until it reaches your maximum bid.
- The bidding will occur automatically – no last-minute panics if your internet connection is lost!
- Bids can also be manually placed in increments.
- The colour of the lots you are bidding on will indicate your position:

Green – Reserve met; you are the highest bidder
Amber - You are highest bidder. But reserve not met. You will need to bid above the reserve if you want to win the lot.
Red - You've been outbid. You will need to bid higher if you want to win the lot.
